Roger Morfey is conducting a regional assessment of the impact of London’s
umbrella body for the voluntary and community sector. Over the past ten years
he has worked with a mix of third-sector (charitable, non-profit, associations and
networks, social/community enterprise etc) organisations - known as TSOs.

Both public- and private-sector supporters of charitable, philanthropic and social
objectives are looking more closely at the efficiency of the TSO delivery sector.
Hence there is increasing pressure on them to demonstrate their economic
value, through:

     o Funding that is dependent on job, skills and ‘business support’ outputs
     o Economic ‘return’ from receiving small grant awards and donations
     o Area-wide economic impact evaluations and assessments
     o Public-contracting service level agreements
     o Their role as significant employment sectors in disadvantaged areas.

Roger Morfey can help third-sector bodies or groups in a number of ways in
developing a progressive and financially-sustainable future through:

     o Independent funding reviews, assessments and evaluation reports for TSOs
     o Area-based third-sector social and economic impact studies
     o Impact and return from small-grant funding and programmes
     o Identifying and preparing funding and sponsorship bids
     o Supporting forward financial strategies and business plans
     o Advice on grant/financial opportunities, eligibility and priorities.

Understanding can be given to the historic origins of charities, foundations and
trusts and how they can meet current economic challenges.
